Families in Khan Younis and Central Gaza Need Your Help to Restore Their Lifeline
The Crisis
Families across Gaza have lost their water sources. In Khan Younis, the camp's desalination plant was damaged in bombing, and the solar panels that powered it were destroyed. Meanwhile, families in central Gaza have no water infrastructure at all.
Without functioning water systems, hundreds of people depend on just 2 water trucks per week. When the trucks arrive, there is chaos. People rush desperately for water, with some getting injured in the process. Widows, children, and women caring for wounded husbands must walk long distances carrying heavy water containers back to their families.
The trucks stop at only one point, making access even more difficult for those who are most vulnerable.
The Solution
Together, we can raise the final £8,000 needed to:
Phase 1: Khan Younis Repair (£5,000)
- Repair the existing solar-powered desalination plant
- Restore 24/7 access to clean, safe water for hundreds of families
- End the dangerous weekly scramble for survival
Phase 2: Central Gaza New Plant (£3,000)
- Complete funding for a brand-new solar-powered desalination plant producing 10 cubic meters per day
- Provide sustainable, independent water production for an underserved community
- Final contribution toward the complete 3kW solar power system for reliable operation
Thanks to generous donors, we have already secured most of the funding for these vital projects. We now need your help to raise the final £8,000 to make both projects a reality.
Why Desalination Plants Are the Answer
Unlike unreliable water trucks, desalination plants provide:
✅ Water 24/7 - Families get clean water whenever they need it, not just twice a week
✅ Much Cheaper - Costs 10 times less than trucked water over time
✅ Always Available - No delays from fuel shortages, roadblocks, or damaged trucks
✅ Clean & Safe - Consistent, high-quality water that won't make families sick
Your Impact
Every donation brings us closer to completing these vital projects:
- £25 = Essential repair components for Khan Younis
- £50 = Significant contribution toward either project
- £100 = Major contribution toward system repairs or new plant completion
- £250 = Substantial support for project completion
- £500 = Significant contribution toward full restoration
- £1,000 = Major impact toward completing either project
- £3,000 = Complete the central Gaza desalination plant
- £5,000 = Complete Khan Younis water system restoration
- £8,000 = Both projects completed - transforming water access for two communities
Why This Matters
Access to clean water is a basic human right. These families shouldn't have to risk injury or walk miles just to get water for their children. With desalination plants, they can have reliable, safe water available 24/7 - not just when trucks can make dangerous deliveries.
Your donation provides essential infrastructure that offers both immediate relief and long-term sustainability to families in desperate need.
Will you help restore their access to clean water and build hope for the future?
Your generosity reaches families directly through our verified local partners, including AMURT team members who have personally assessed these urgent needs.
